Western Europe marketplace data API
ShopAPIS returns structured product data — price, currency, availability, seller, ratings, reviews, variants and EAN/GTIN — from the leading Western European marketplaces as normalized JSON. The region spans Amazon EU (.co.uk/.de/.fr/.it/.es/.nl), eBay UK/DE, Otto, Zalando, Bol.com, Cdiscount, Vinted, Back Market and Idealo. One schema covers a German Amazon ASIN, a Vinted resale listing and an Idealo cross-merchant price array alike.
Western Europe is a €489.5B online market (2024). European e-commerce turnover reached €842B in 2024 (+7%), with online marketplaces generating €247.5B (~70%) of the €358.7B cross-border market (EuroCommerce 2025 ; Cross-Border Commerce Europe ).
How the region is structured
Every Western European market orbits Amazon, then splits into national champions and verticals. Amazon’s European platforms draw roughly 1.2B monthly visits region-wide, and Amazon ranks #1 by traffic in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands. Around it sit national marketplaces (Otto in Germany, Bol.com in Benelux, Cdiscount in France), pan-European fashion (Zalando, 25 markets), a vast C2C resale layer (Vinted, €10.8B GMV), refurbished electronics (Back Market, $3.5B GMV) and a price-comparison layer (Idealo) that is itself a cross-merchant price dataset.
Anti-bot difficulty varies by an order of magnitude across these platforms. Amazon EU runs the hardest stack (CAPTCHA, behavioral, rotating defenses); eBay exposes an official Browse/Finding API; Idealo and the price-comparison engines have the lowest defenses because they are built to publish merchant offer feeds. ShopAPIS absorbs the marketplace scraping layer for all of them so you work with fields, not HTML.

Use cases
- Pan-EU price monitoring — track one EAN across Amazon.de, Bol.com, Cdiscount and Idealo to see the lowest live offer per market. See price monitoring.
- MAP compliance — catch resellers breaching minimum advertised price across six Amazon domains and the price-comparison layer. See MAP compliance.
- Resale and refurbished pricing — benchmark second-hand value on Vinted and refurbished grades on Back Market against new-good prices.
- Cross-border catalog matching — resolve a GTIN to listings in every market for catalog enrichment.
