Oceania marketplaces

ShopAPIS turns Australia’s and New Zealand’s leading marketplaces into a single structured product feed. One API returns price in AUD or NZD, availability, seller and store details, ratings, review counts, variant/size matrices and platform identifiers (ASIN, item ID, listing ID, SKU) from Amazon Australia, eBay Australia, Kogan, Trade Me and THE ICONIC — no per-site scrapers, proxy pools or CAPTCHA solving to maintain.

Oceania consolidated sharply in 2025: two domestic marketplaces closed and the field narrowed to a handful of dominant players. Amazon AU now leads with ~75–88M monthly visits, eBay AU follows at ~51M (declining ~8% YoY), and Trade Me runs a near-monopoly in New Zealand with ~7M live listings and ~US$1.35B revenue (99% NZ-derived). ShopAPIS covers the survivors that still matter for product-data resale.

Platforms covered

These 5 platforms span every major surface that still operates in the region — Amazon’s dominant catalog, eBay’s used/sold-price long tail, Kogan’s standalone domestic marketplace, Trade Me’s New-Zealand monopoly, and THE ICONIC’s AU/NZ fashion catalog.

Coverage at a glance

  • Markets: Australia and New Zealand.

The 2025 Australian shake-up removed two domestic marketplaces from the map: Catch (Wesfarmers) closed April 2025 and MyDeal (Woolworths) closed September 2025, both after no clear path to profitability. ShopAPIS tracks the live survivors — Amazon AU and eBay AU now own most of the generalist demand. See the marketplace scraping API pillar.
